Description: Customer service: Greeting customers, leading them to their tables, and ensuring customer satisfaction
Taking orders: Taking food and drink orders from customers, and relaying them to the kitchen
Serving food and drinks: Serving food and drinks to customers in a timely manner
Handling payments: Handling cash or card payments, and balancing the cash drawer at the end of the shift
Keeping the dining area clean: Keeping the dining area clean and tidy, especially during busy hours
Providing information: Explaining daily specials, answering menu questions, and making recommendations
Catering to special requests: Ensuring people with allergies are safe
Checking in with customers: Checking in with customers during their meal
Delivering checks: Delivering checks to customers
Waiters and waitresses typically need a high school diploma or equivalent, and previous experience in a customer service role is often preferred. They should also have excellent communication skills and a friendly demeanor
