- Cleaning: Cleaning and sanitizing kitchen equipment, floors, and other surfaces
Food preparation: Assisting with basic food preparation, such as washing and peeling produce, and prepping meats
Receiving and storing: Receiving and storing food and kitchen supplies, and unloading deliveries
Setting up and breaking down: Setting up and breaking down tables, snack bars, and display cases
Waste disposal: Disposing of waste and emptying trash bins
Health and safety: Adhering to food safety and sanitation guidelines
Customer service: Interacting with customers as needed
Communication: Communicating kitchen needs to supervisors
Inventory: Monitoring supply needs and conducting kitchen inventory
Kitchen helpers work closely with chefs and other kitchen staff to ensure the kitchen runs smoothly. They should have knowledge of general kitchen operations and food storage guidelines
