Coding and entering data: Coding and entering data into hospital computer systems
Directing clerical staff: Directing clerical staff to file or retrieve charts
Ensuring accuracy: Working with healthcare providers to ensure the accuracy of medical records
Maintaining confidentiality: Ensuring that patient profiles and medical records stay safe and confidential
Creating medical record files: Creating medical record files
Researching missing records: Researching lost or missing records and information
Answering requests: Answering requests for medical records from outside agencies and third-party sponsorship
Creating desk manuals: Designing and creating desk manuals for all categories of staff in the Health Record Department
A Senior Medical Records Officer may also be responsible for reviewing the work of Medical Record Officers.
- Requirements
- 1 year. Education: secondary certificate. CV
High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
A minimum of 2 years experience in a similar role.
Advanced understanding of medical terminology and administration processes.
Proficient in information management programs and MS Office.
Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities.
