- A Laboratory Specialist is responsible for performing a variety of technical tasks within a laboratory setting, including preparing samples, operating specialized equipment, conducting analyses, maintaining inventory, ensuring safety protocols are followed, and recording accurate data, often specializing in a specific scientific discipline like chemistry, microbiology, or biology, depending on the laboratorys focus; they may also assist with research projects and provide technical support to other team members.
- Requirements
- A minimum of a BSc in medical diagnostics, medical technology or an equivalent with a specialist in medical microbiology;
6 Years of experience in medical microbiology in a human clinical laboratory in developing countries with at least two years’ experience in a laboratory quality management role
Knowledge and experience in the laboratory diagnosis of infectious diseases including specific hands-on laboratory experience.
