Description
Supervision:
Directing and coordinating the work of medical records staff, including training and performance evaluations.
Record Management:
Overseeing the creation, maintenance, and storage of medical records, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
Confidentiality:
Implementing and monitoring policies to protect the privacy and security of patient information.
EHR Implementation:
Participating in the implementation and maintenance of the facilitys electronic health record system.
Compliance:
Ensuring adherence to all relevant laws, regulations, and accreditation standards related to medical records.
Problem Solving:
Addressing issues related to record retrieval, confidentiality, and other related matters.
Policy Development:
Contributing to the development and implementation of policies and procedures for medical record management.
Reporting:
Preparing reports on medical record statistics and other relevant data.
Liaison:
Serving as a point of contact between the medical records department and other departments within the facility.
Quality Assurance:
Monitoring the quality of record-keeping and identifying areas for improvement
Requirements
Knowledge of medical records analyzing and processing techniques and standards.

Knowledge of supervisory practices and principles.

Knowledge of medical records guidelines and regulations.

Skill in both verbal and written communication.
Minimum Qualifications:

Associates degree in Medical Records Technology AND four years medical records operations experience, which includes one year in a lead capacity; OR, Six years of medical records operations experience, which includes one year in a lead capacity; OR, Any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.
