- A veterinarians job is to care for the health of animals and protect public health. They diagnose, treat, and research medical conditions and diseases of pets, livestock, and other animals. This includes examining animals, performing surgery, prescribing medication, and advising owners on animal care. Veterinarians also work to prevent the spread of diseases to other animals and to humans.
- Requirements
- Doctor of veterinary medicine degree.
Appropriate state licensure.
