Description
Diagnose and treat kidney diseases:
Manage conditions such as diabetic kidney disease, kidney failure, kidney stones, and autoimmune diseases affecting the kidneys.
Manage complex conditions:
Treat patients with chronic kidney disease, end-stage renal disease, and high blood pressure, understanding their systemic impact.
Perform procedures:
May include kidney biopsies, placement of dialysis access, and management of dialysis treatments.
Patient care and education:
Provide comprehensive care to patients and educate them about their conditions, treatments, and preventive measures.
Collaborate with healthcare teams:
Work with other specialists, such as cardiologists and endocrinologists, to provide holistic care.
Maintain medical records:
Document patient encounters and treatment plans using electronic health record (EHR) systems.

Required Qualifications

Education: Medical degree from an accredited institution and successful completion of an internal medicine residency and nephrology fellowship.

Board Certification: Must be board-certified in Nephrology.
Licensure: Current medical license in the state or jurisdiction of practice.
Experience: Typically requires several years of clinical experience in nephrology.
Skills: Strong communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills are essential for patient interaction and team collaboration
