Description: Analyze samples: Use automated and computer-aided testing procedures to analyze blood, urine, and other body fluids
Interpret results: Interpret test results and decide if further tests are needed
Collaborate with other professionals: Work with other scientists, such as chemists, pharmacologists, and toxicologists
Develop new tests: Develop new tests or improve existing ones
Conduct research: Conduct research on a specific subject
Write reports: Write reports and present findings
Set standards: Set standards for the provision of high quality clinical laboratory services
Lead quality improvements: Lead quality improvements in clinical investigations to safeguard patient safety
Offer clinical advice: Offer clinical and medical advice to other clinical experts
Document research findings: Document research findings for future reference and educational purposes

Requirements: Bachelor’s in biology, chemistry, or related field.
More education, experience, or specialization may be preferred.
Familiarity with laboratory testing, data recording practices, and safety procedures.
Strong understanding of scientific concepts and biological processes.
Ability to train, motivate, coach, and lead a team of other researchers and research assistants.
Excellent problem solving, verbal and written communication, project and resource management, and computer skills.
